The Night Comes For Us

Indonesian cinema continues to infiltrate the American cinematic conscious. The Raid 2 and The Killers have consistently been covered in the news (we should know, we’ve been one of the websites doing the covering) and now The Night Comes for Us…uh, comes along.

Joe Taslim will star as Ito, a Gangland Enforcer who returns to his local crime family in Jakarta after a stint with the notorious South East Asian Triad. He returns to find himself trapped in a word of betrayal and chaos as the Triad is moving towards a bloody campaign of territorial expansion.

If the name Joe Taslim sounds familiar, then maybe you saw the first The Raid, in which he played a main character. Twitchfilm reports that other alumni from the Raid duology will be joining Taslim in The Night Comes for Us, including Julie Estelle (who shall forever be nicknamed “Hammer Girl”) Arifin Putra, Oka Antara, and Yayan Ruhian (who appeared in both Raid films in different roles). It should come as no surprise then that Gareth Evans, director of both Raid films is involved with the project, serving as co-screenwriter with Ruhian. Timo Tjahjanto, one of the co-writers and co-directors of Killers is going solo directing The Night Comes for Us.
Tjahjanto and Evans previously worked together on Safe Haven, a segment in the horror anthology film, V/H/S 2.

Missing Malaysian Jet Movie 'The Vanishing Act' Promoted at Cannes

It's not a Hollywood production, but a movie about the Malaysian plane tragedy is in the works and should be in theaters by fall.

Rupesh Paul Productions is promoting "The Vanishing Act" among buyers at the Cannes Film Festival. A poster for it promises to tell "the untold story" of the missing plane, but in an interview Friday, the associate director of the movie, Sritama Dutta, said the only similarities between the thriller and the real-life disaster is that a plane is missing.

"It has got no similarities," said Dutta, adding there have been so many developments with the actual case that it wouldn't be practical to try to mirror it. "We cannot keep up with the true facts, it's changing every day."

Dutta said Indian director Rupesh Paul will film the movie and a multiethnic cast for it could be revealed before Cannes ends May 25. Paul hopes to shoot the film in India and the United States and plans a worldwide release in September.

Authorities still have not been able to locate Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which was carrying 239 people from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8 when it went missing. The search for the plane has made headlines worldwide.

aku dulu sangat menyesalkan lantaran sempat mendownload Promentheus sepanjang film ini berputar aku hanya mencibir saja, ntah apa bagusnya film ini dan bodohnya pun aku tonton hingga selesai, sambil bilang, filmnya aneh, ntah apa maksud si raksasa botak yang cuma pakai kolor doank !
