a couple days ago, I'd read some tweets mentioning about english book for elementary school that frankly, sucked the hell out. The editor and/ the writer ( who are practically suck too ) translated some words by using google translate. I wanna slap them in their faces, how the fuck our people r gonna make it big, or at least be able to speak english good enough, if from the times being, they literally learn bad material?

kalo 'appearance is matter' itu matternya jadi noun. kalau diartiin jadinya 'penampilan ADALAH masalah. jadinya kayak fakta.

kalo 'appearance does matter' itu asalnya dari 'appearance matters'. matternya itu verb. dan penggunaan does di tengah2 itu fungsinya buat penekanan. kalo ditranslate jadinya:

appearance matters: penampilan berarti
appearance does matter: penampilan MEMANG berarti.

kalo ini lebih buat nunjukin opini.

@ketrukss ya now I understand. "where are you from?" means someone asked me where I am from before I arrive in a place. then "where do you come from?" means someone asked me about my origin, ethic, country and etc. thanks bro @ketrukss for the help and explanation.

and then for sucked english book. yes ! i found some unproper english words on that book. it looks like so "google translate".
BTW @ketrukss can you show me which words that have "unproper placement" on that book. Cause I want to know from your point of view. Maybe we are different in analyze that book since my english is not really good and I started to learn good english.
