PLOT: In “Prayers for Bobby,” Mary Griffith is a devout Christian who raises her children with the conservative teachings of the Presbyterian Church. However, when her son Bobby confides to his older brother he may be gay, life changes for the entire family after Mary learns about his secret. While Bobby’s father and siblings slowly come to terms with his homosexuality, Mary believes God can cure him of what she considers his ’sin’ and persuades Bobby to pray harder and seek solace in church activities in hopes of changing him. Desperate for his mother’s approval, Bobby does what is asked of him, but through it all, the church’s apparent disapproval of homosexuality causes him to grow increasingly withdrawn and depressed……

Group LUMiX released a TV Movie called “Prayers for Bobby”, which aired on LifeTime network. It is based on the book, Prayers for Bobby: A Mother’s Coming to Terms with the Suicide of Her Gay Son, by Leroy F. Aarons, which is itself based on the true story of the life and legacy of Bobby Griffith, a young gay man who killed himself due to his mother’s and community’s religious intolerance. The film stars Ryan Kelley as Bobby Griffith and Sigourney Weaver as his mother, Mary. Size is 1CD, the rating looks pretty good, you might want to check it out!

One of the best, if not the best, gay themed movies. Nangis sesenggukan nonton ini. Parah. Kebayang perasaan Bobby, nyokapnya, bokapnya, adiknya, tapi paling terharu sama kakak cowonya sih. Luar biasa ini film. Recommended!

momen pas bobby matinya kurang greget. putus asa, trus sedih, akhirnya lompat jembatan dan gitu aja. iya sih, khas anak2 remaja, tapi antiklimaks banget. tapi momen2 endingnya sumpah keren.

soalnya kisah si Bobby cuman separuh durasi, sisanya cerita masalah penyesalan sang ibunda sampai akhirnya si ibu bisa legowo menerima adanya kaum LGBT
